Phew i got some minus points for opening this post. Guess i offended the Lords of Manila or some shady gangster (one who is spineless -- probably a eunuch who had been castrated) and therefore operates behind a computer screen hiding his insecurities and vulnerabilities.

Should we worry about rubbish dumps like such folks NO!!! So lets get on with the postings!!!

As Phenom in his posts has rightly pointed out, the hotels in Balibago are a dump. However if you are looking for a place with decent aircon/attached toilet and decent service you should be able to find quite a few in the close vicinity of Fields Avenue. Its best advised that you stick to Fields Avenue especially if you are a first time cheongster cause it will save you the walking to and fro and having to deal with the ugly side of the trikes.

But otherwise Clarke is heaven. Ponderosa hotel has a pretty european client base. Considering their location which is a good 15 min walk away i guess their rates are not cheap either and their hotels are crap.

One would be better advised to stay at Tiger Hotel / Perimeter Hotel (for the budget conscious) decent service/price. And if you are on a really low budget you could consider Wobbly Pension House. As the name suggests dun expect much either from the structure of the building or the insides. But again there are quite a few Ang mohs staying there! These Ang Mohs will stay anywhere wont they? All they need is a bed to bunk/toilet. Even fan cooled rooms suffice for these guys. Wonder how they manage that


Of course there are slightly expensive hotels like Wild Orchid/ Brass Knob/Heritage and the likes.

Now the interesting part. The Bars open at 2 pm and some dun close until 5 am. Some open as early as 11am.

The main area to cheong is Fields Avenue --> Upper Fields Avenue --> Perimeter Road --> Upper Periter Road (Don Juicio Avenue) --> --> Friendship Area

Bars make appearances and disappearances all the time. Most are run by Ang Mohs again. Some Ang Mohs go out of their way to make you comfortable (Remember this is an Ang Moh playground not Zuhai/Schenchen or Guanzhou) by offering you free shots (upto 80% alcohol) and free food too. Well these are not the reasons you should consider going there. There are much better reasons to consider going there though.

The Barfines are generally in the range of Peso 1200 in most bars and this includes everything. This is unlike Manila where the Barfine can range from peso 1500 to 2000 and this just means an early work release. The rest you negotiate with the person you barfined which could be anywhere from 3000 Peso at EDSA international entertainment complex to Peso 5000 and even more at Padre Burgos Street in Makati.

Ofcourse as far as Manila is concerned you can always patronise LACAfe which is open 24 hours and is full of fls for the entire 24 hours. However the FLs can be pretty choosy. They prefer Japs/Korean vis a vis Ang Moh. Ofcourse service is debatable and yes there are stunners there. But then there are stunners everywhere. You can find stunners at P Burgos street in Makati/EDSA/Malate/LA CAfe and yes in yours truly Angeles City too.

If you dice the internet enough you will find Ang Mohs who have been conned into parting with Peso 25000 in a single night at P Burgos Street.

If its true GFE that you are looking for then its Angeles City again that you must visit. The LDs here are about P100 which is much cheaper than the LDS at Manila which can range from P175 to P350 and upwards. They have a 2 tiered LD system in Manila and yes you would look like a cheap charlie if you ordered the lower tier P 175 drink. Ofcourse the preferred LD would be P350 or more.
