Appreciate TS for trying to organise. However, even if u do not want to make any single cent, you should also be entitled to take part free for going thru all the hassles. Organising is never easy, somemore urs is not just a simple clubbing event. It involves a lot of possibilities that might happen like, rape? drugs usage, outrage of modesty after drinking too much, complain from neighbours for being too loud and police case etc.... You are exposed to so many possible troubles, those take parts should be paying for ur efforts or ur share. Seriously......

For me, there is nothing wrong for bro malehost to state his thinking of it being too expensive. Everyone has their expectations for the money they are spending. So i respect his decision. In another way, if 300-400 dollars is considered cheap fuck, i would same for the say price to just talk and chill with girls in a group with others is extradordinary high. You can easily go a club to do it.
