I do feel it is time to increase water price if it is true that they have not made adjustment over the last 20year. But 30% increase is quite a lot, probably they can do it over a spread of few years. Business heavily depending on water will be hardest hit. Especially those SME. Garment already hint they working to increase revenue to meet raising cost, so I bet "GST" +1% coming our way and maybe additional luxury tax / income tax increase also brewing. Maybe increase casino gaming revenue tax a good option, since it will be less impact to ordinary people on the street whom does not go casino nor have cash for that. If I'm not wrong our casino gaming revenue lowest in the world. How come leh !

Every thing suffered by these cb is magnified 1000 times. If u touch their car n got microscopic scratch they'll sue you!!! For everything Including defamation.

Now everything they spend on, they also claim.
Including toilet paper also.

But sporeans suffer, die, theyll just give gst credits. 1 credit for every 1000 in increased costs

Re: Raise water prices by as much as 100% to reflect production cost: Economist

Actually we can forsee such thing like increased of prices here and there are imminent. With the influx of foreign "talents" and immigrants, consumption sure in demand. Housing prices up. Transport system down. Jobs taken away. Water and soon electricity tariffs up.

So honestly, does immigrants really benefit us? Man in the street?

SINGAPORE: Faced with the news that the price of water will increase by 30 per cent over the next two years, Professor Ng Yew-Kwang is of the opinion that the hike should be even larger, to reflect the cost of water production.

"In my view, it's too little," he told Channel NewsAsia on Friday (Feb 24). "From an overall economy point of view, we can increase it even more.

"I would prefer at least 50 per cent - if not (a) 100 per cent (hike)," said the Nanyang Technological University economics professor.

Prof Ng pointed out that water prices have not been raised since 2000 – nearly two decades ago. He added that it is also costly to produce water - and how much the public pays has to reflect this.

Really need to increase water prices some more ? You must be kidding right ?
Oh My Goodness............100% water price hike ?
Likely it is just an academic discussion.

30% water price hike already has the knock down effects on consumers going to pay more for goods and services.
